The Wager

If God exists, and you don't believe in God, than all is lost.
If God doesn't exist, and you don't believe in God, than you lose nothing.
If God exists, and you believe in God, than all is yours.

Which coward in history said this? First and last name, please. No middle name required.

Comic Sans Is Divine

Imagine my surprise when I went looking for Comic Sans MS for Linux and I came upon this web page that was dedicated to banning Comic Sans MS from the Internet.  That's like banning mirth from comedy.  There was even a site that claimed that Comic Sans MS was used by child molesters, therefore, it was bad.  Had this person ever heard the term guilt by association?  Or the ad hominem fallacy?  Obviously this person is an idiot like you know who.

This Day All Tech Gods Must Fall

No, this isn't about the evils of technology. Quite the opposite, if you must know. I believe that science and technology are tools that can be used for the betterment of humanity. Religion and superstitions are tools also, but tend towards the dark side of the Simian Force. Therefore, I tend to steer clear of them.

The Musical Quagmire

I was just listening to Bauhaus' “Who Killed Mr. Moonlight” and one line in that song made me laugh. I've heard this song thousands of times, but since it was Bauhaus, I never really paid attention to their lyrics. But, as I had my headphones on and usually I just can't avoid hearing the words in the music sometimes, I heard this line: “We can't paint any pictures/ As the moon had all our brushes”. The image conjured up by this just made me laugh. Ha ha ha. Funny.

Of May Day, Corporate Aggression and Selling Out

What is it about the fact that crucifixion was a Roman form of execution that the Christians don't understand? I'm not naming names here.

Why Agnostics are Uneducated

Gnosis: knowledge, inquiry {gnos}

Before I was distracted by “10 Reason Why My Renders Suck”, I was going to write about agnostics, following on my famous “Why I'm not an Atheist” proposition. So, here I am writing about agnostics.

10 Reasons why My Renders Suck

So, yesterday I was about to write a blog on "Why Agnostics Are Uneducated" when I found this blog post via a twitter feed: 10 Reasons Why Your Render Sucks. I thought about it and came to the conclusion that this guy is right! My renders do suck, and not just little, but sucks the big one.

Why I'm not an Atheist

Preamble: If you are insulted by being called an idiot, and you call yourself an atheist, please don’t read further.

Apology: To Bertrand Russell and the Bertrand Russell estate as I do not mean to mock his work Why I’m not a Christian, since I haven’t read that book even though I’ve owned it for over 20 years.

Thesis: If you don’t subscribe to a certain mode of thought, why would you classify yourself by using terminology from that mode of thought?

Video Games and Movies

OK, so I play video games and I watch movies, but I prefer to do one or the other.  Especially when I'm playing games, I certainly don't want to feel like I'm watching a stupid movie.  If the story line is integrated into the game, that's great, but when it detracts from killing zombies, shooting bad guys, finishing a quest, or in any way prevents my keyboard from swinging a sword, pulling a trigger, or detonating a nuclear bomb, it sucks.

A Not so Professional Review of Wicked

OK, so I read Wicked and it seemed to me that the idea was a really, really good one.  As for the execution, not really so good.  At least, Gregory McGuire isn't an idiot like Dan Brown.  He has more talent, but since this is a non-professional review and not a comparison of idiots vs. non-idiots, I'll just stick to Wicked.
