Dan Brown Is an Idiot

Or a marketing genius.  Or just someone who just doesn't care about people in general.  Or just a poor writer with no imagination.

In any case, it is in bad taste to propose that something based on myths/legends/hearsay is truth.  That's like saying the Earth is flat.  Oh, wait, that's right, it is flat.  The study of history can be mired with doubt and other non-incontrovertible "facts" that lends itself to conspiracy theories.  Like the three fine historians who wrote Holy Blood, Holy Grail and The Messianic Legacy, among other sensational "documentaries", from which our dear Mr. Brown drew inspiration.  But you have to question why he used these three guys when it was revealed that their "facts" were not facts at all.  All their evidence were drawn from myths, legends, and other nonsense.  Well, I can only say that due to this "information gathering" power of Mr. Brown, that he is an idiot.

To misquote and paraphrase something that I once came upon during my "scholarly" search of ancient cultures: "There was no archeological evidence that the ancient Romans used cables, therefore, they must have gone wireless."

Absence of evidence doesn't mean conspiracy, unless you're like Kurt Cobain and believe that just because you're paranoid doesn't mean that someone isn't watching you.  I believe that absence of evidence just means that, there is no evidence.  You cannot prove nor disprove anything without evidence: this is why God is so personal, you cannot prove nor disprove HIS existence; that's why I believe in Simius Dei, because you can't prove nor disprove the existence of my imagination (ok, ok, maybe you can prove that I have no imagination, but that's irrelevant).

Since I am a nobody, and probably only five people will ever read this, I will state this about the whole entire Mary Magdelene and Jesus affair: Evidence suggests that there were a bunch of Israelites who opposed Roman rule and carried out activities against their oppressors.  It is not out of the question that whoever the Romans overthrew when they first conquered Israel probably did have heirs who may have survived to 0 C.E..  It was very unlikely, unless you were a hermit, that someone of "Jesus'" stature would have been unwed by the age of 33.  It is very likely that Dan Brown is an idiot, though I have no evidence for this.

Cogito ergo sum.  Wait, that's begging the question, damn it!
